Rang by IHT is a socially motivated lifestyle brand connecting rural women communities to opportunity, emphasizing hand crafted products, good business practice and community sustainability. The projects purpose is to impact change- to make rural artisan production sustainable, hoping to connect artisans with designers and customers so that their work is more accessible to a global market.

Project Rang, initiated in June 2014, is IHT’s brainchild in collaboration with the World Bank and the Japan Social Development Fund. Through Rang, our aim is to increase the livelihood of 2,600 artisans in the rural areas of South Punjab and Sindh, Pakistan.
Project Rang is aimed at making a widespread impact for making heritage communities sustainable. As a part of this mission, the first phase of the project focuses on training women artisans in a skill-based craft. The focus of the second phase is on the entrepreneurial aspects of running a business and supply chains.
We are committed to making the Rang project be a catalyst for change in the lives of rural women artisans in Pakistan. For rural craft to thrive, we need to be able to train these communities in better business practices and connect rural artisans with both local and global networks.
We strive to provide these women with a sustainable income, making them economically free and empowering them by giving them the tools for enhanced skills/capacity building.
Rang, by IHT, is an impact driven project; trying to produce a change. It is change in the form of providing sustainable income, improving the lives of rural families and making long term social change and with the hopes of having a ripple effect.
